Pine cone decorations – great for developing pincer grip and hand eye coordination.

You will need: • Large pine cones. • Non toxic craft glue. • Ribbon. Bits to stick on the cone, we used: • Bits of felt. • Small pompoms. • Pipe cleaners cut twisted to form small lollipop shapes (easier for little hands to grab).

Of course you could try glitter, foam shapes, cotton wool, stickers, tinsel or any other small pieces for decoration.

First cut the ribbon into lengths of about 6 inches and carefully tie around the cones at the end at which it was attached to the tree.

Then let your little one push the decorations into the cones. You can then take them out add a little glue to the cone and replace the decoration.

If your child is old enough they can glue them in place themselves. Then the cones can be tied to the Christmas tree when dry.
