You will need: • Cardboard or pink & green card. • Non-toxic paint. • Paintbrushes. • Mini pompoms. • Wobbly eyes. • Scissors. • PVA glue. • Vibrant card. • Black fine liner pen. • Cellophane bags. • Heart shaped chocolates (hugs). • Non heart shaped chocolates (kisses). • Sealable bags for chocolates. • Glitter and sparkles. • Stapler.
Start by cutting elf faces out of cardboard or pink card. Cut out elf hats from the green card or cardboard. If you’ve used cardboard then paint your elf faces and hats.
We used an egg carton to mix the paint for T to use. He loves to paint but it can get a little messy so a waterproof cover is useful.
Once painted and dried you can add glitter and pompoms to the hats. Draw faces on your elves and glue on eyes, you can even give them rosy cheeks.
Put your chocolates in small bags if they have no wrapper. Make sure to put your chocolate kisses separate from your heart shaped hugs.
We used foil wrapped kisses and heart shaped hugs but don’t worry if you can’t find heart shaped chocs, just as long as there are two different looking chocolates preferable individually wrapped.
Add glitter and sparkles to each bag before sealing. Cut out shapes from your vibrant card making sure it’s large enough for your message for example “Elf kisses & hugs. To ___ love from ___ xxx”
Finally staple your elf to the card and the cellophane packet and you’re good to go!
These make lovely little gifts for friends and family or for place settings at the dinner table. You could also try polar bear, penguin or reindeer kisses and hugs. If you’re a little cheeky then why not try “Reindeer poops” using round chocolates or chocolate raisins 🙂
