Lollipop owl tag – December 4th

You will need: • Cardboard. • Pen. • Pencils or crayons. • Paper. • Hole punch. • Feathers. • Felt in various colours. • Scissors. • Wobbly eyes. • Strong craft glue. • Ribbon. • Festive stickers. • Lollipop/craft stick.

Draw an owl onto your cardboard and cut it out. Cut out felt in the shapes seen below. You could also try Snowmen, Santa’s or another animal.

Cut your paper to form a small diamond shape to fold in half and use as a beak. Cut a rectangle from your paper large enough to fold in half to use as a tag for a present.

Punch a hole in your tag and write in your message. Glue your feathers to the cardboard owl and glue the craft stick to the back.

Put together your owl face (there’s more detail on making owl faces on the December 3rd post) and glue it to the cardboard.

Get your little one to decorate the tag with crayons and festive stickers. You could use glitters and gems on both your owl and tag.

Finally tie the paper to the owl stick with enough ribbon left over to tape to a present as a unique and eye-catching tag.
