Super easy naan bread pizza that your kids will love.

This is a recipe for spinach, mushroom and tricolour pepper pizza but you can easily adapt it for any toppings you would like.


This cheats pizza is a huge hit in this house not only because you can customise it with the toppings of your own choice but because it can be cut into odd shapes and it’s easy for little hands to hold. This recipe is for two naan breads but you can use as many as you like and just alter the recipe. The same goes for toppings, simply use whatever you fancy or that your child likes.

You will need:

  1. Two naan breads.

  2. Pasta sauce or pizza base sauce – we used half a jar of Lloyd Grossman’s pasta sauce (it was on special offer).

  3. Red, green and yellow peppers – we use frozen sliced bell peppers.

  4. Mushrooms – again we use frozen ones.

  5. One brick of frozen spinach.

  6. A tbsp of olive oil.

  7. Grated cheese.


1. Put all your frozen ingredients in a frying pan with a tablespoon of oil (olive oil is healthier than vegetable oil) and fry until cooked.


2. Put your Nan bread on a baking tray. Put the oven on at 180°C but don’t put the bread in yet.

Handy hint – if you use tin foil on your tray it’ll save you having to wash the tray afterwards.

3. Add about half a jar of your pasta sauce to your frying pan and simmer until thickened and hot. Put the leftover sauce in the fridge and you can use it for another meal.


4. Spoon your mix over your naan breads and sprinkle grated cheese (or tear mozzarella over the top) and put them in the oven for 12 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.


Then all that’s left to do is to let the pizzas cool down enough to serve.

That’s about as long as it takes to do the dishes – or about the same time it takes your baby to decide she hates being stuck in the pushchair in the kitchen…
