Edible sensory play Rainbow Pasta or “Slimy Worms”in a bath.

117

For your Slimy Worms you will need:

  1. Spaghetti (you can use any kind of pasta but for “Worms” spaghetti works best).

  2. Food colouring (We used ‘Sugarflair’ paste in ‘Baby Blue’, ‘Melon’ and ‘Mint Green’) but you can use any colour you like!

  3. Cooking oil to stop the pasta sticking.

  4. A few pans.

Simply add water to your pans and stir in the tip of a teaspoon (or a few drops if you’re using liquid colours) of food colouring to the water colouring each pan a different colour.

Then bring to the boil (I use boiling water from the kettle to my pans instead of cold to save time) and add the pasta. Once it is cooked simply drain it and add a dash of oil to help stop it sticking together then let it cool until warm enough to bathe in.

Next is the fun part. We have a baby bath from a Mamas and Papas changing table so we filled that with the pasta – both spaghetti and penne – and added the below baby.

Her big brother the couldn’t resist climbing in with her and had lots of fun covering her in pasta while she sat and tried to eat as much of it as she could – which I let her of course because it was completely edible! Plus it saved me having to make her a big dinner!!

I kid of course.

In conclusion this edible sensory play session was a huge hit with both of my little ones and if you have a go at this I hope your little ones have great fun too.
